David Beckham recently got candid about how he met the love of his life, his wife, Victoria Beckham.

The former soccer star took a trip down memory lane and recalled that the former Spice Girl gave him her number on a train ticket stub, and that he's kept it ever since, Mirror reports

During a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, the 44-year-old revealed that it took awhile for him to gather the courage to ask Victoria (now 45) for her number until one day when she watched him play a soccer match.

"She came to watch me in a game in London with her manager at the time and one of the other Spice Girls, Sporty Spice," he recalled.

When asked if Victoria was his favourite of the girl band, the dad of four laughed, "She was obviously my favourite. Might be a bit awkward if [she] wasn't."

After the match, David spotted Victoria and thought it was the right time to ask for her number.

"We talked for about an hour in the players' lounge. She’d actually got the train up that day so she wrote her number down on her train ticket, which I still have."

According to Hello! Magazine the couple met in 1997 and were married two years later.

"For the first three months it was amazing because no one found out about us being together," he added.

"We loved that because we could sneak around. Our first kiss was in the car park of a restaurant. We used to drive to places and just spend as much time together as possible. That was an amazing time in our relationship."

David’s candid interview about his romance with the fashion mogul comes after Victoria took to her Instagram to share a sweet clip in which they lovingly reveal how they met.
