Cape Town - Demi Lovato’s drug overdose has left fans across the world in shock, especially as she’d been sober for six years.

However, if recent reports are anything to go by the 25-year-old singer has been giving cries for help for a while now.

Just three weeks before her apparent overdose Demi fired her sober coach, Mike Bayer, who’d been supporting her during her recovery from drug and alcohol addiction over the last six years, Mirror reports

He also featured in Simply Complicated, a documentary about her struggle released on YouTube last year.

Demi and Mike’s relationship apparently started crumbling after he began to notice her behaving badly and called her out on it, The Sun reports. The two allegedly also had a fall-out because the singer hosted an all-night party shortly before her overdose.

“She and Mike started having arguments back in March,” an insider told The Sun. “He felt like she was always making excuses for herself, her bad behaviour and not telling him the truth about what she was up to.”

According to the source Mike “called her out on her s**t” – which the Confident crooner didn’t appreciate.

“She fired him a few weeks ago, they had a big argument and then they unfollowed each other on social media.”

Just days before the incident, Demi forgot the lyrics to her song Sober during a live performance, Fox News reports.

“F**k, I forgot the lyrics,” she said, laughing.

The song is actually an outcry by Demi – the lyrics include:

“Mama, I’m sorry I’m not sober anymore / And Daddy, please forgive me / For the drinks spilled on the floor / To the ones that never left me / We’ve been down this road before / I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore.”

Demi has received support from fans as well as celebrity friends including Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez and Joe Jonas.
