Demi Lovato reveals the moment she came out to her parents: 'I was shaking and crying – I just felt overwhelmed'

Cape Town – Demi Lovato recently opened up about the moment she came out to her parents.

The 27-year-old spoke to Andy Cohen for his show Radio Andy saying she didn't officially tell her parents that she saw herself "ending up possibly with a woman" until 2017.

The Stone Cold singer who describes herself as sexually fluid, says while her dad already knew before their chat, it was telling her mom she worried about, reports E! News.

"But she was like, 'I just want you to be happy.' And that was so beautiful and amazing. I'm so grateful," Demi said.

"It was actually emotional, but really beautiful," she added. "After everything was done, I was like shaking and crying. I just felt overwhelmed. I have such incredible parents. They were so supportive."

Demi recently revealed she was thinking about starting a family, but she doesn't quite know who that will be with yet.

"I don't know what my future looks like. I don't know if I'm going to have kids this year or in 10 years. I don't know if I'm going to do it with a partner or without, because women don't need partners. Amen!"

After her overdose in July 2018, Demi also told Andy she considered giving up on making music altogether. But now, a year and a half later, the singer has made a triumphant return with her first performance at the Grammys on Sunday.

Demi sang Anyone, a song written just days before her overdose.

"What an unbelievable night. My first time back on stage in almost 2 years. So emotional for me. Thank you all for the love, support and for sharing this moment with me. I love you all." Demi wrote on Instagram.

Next for Demi is the Super Bowl where she'll be performing the national anthem on 2 February.

It looks like everything's coming up Demi in 2020!
