Cape Town - Singer Demi Lovato was reportedly rushed to a Los Angeles hospital on Tuesday.
According to an online report by TMZ the 25-year-old "suffered an apparent heroin overdose".
According to Page Six the Los Angeles Police Department would not comment on whether or not Demi had been transported to hospital. They did however confirm that they responded to a "medical emergency" at the residence.
Demi’s team is yet to comment on the reports.
The young singer has fought substance abuse for years and just last month released a song titled Sober in which she confessed to falling off the wagon.

A rep for Demi Lovato has confirmed that she is awake and recovering with family.
"Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support."

Law enforcement officials have confirmed that Demi was uncooperative when paramedics arrived to help her. According to reports the 25-year-old refused to disclose which drug caused her to overdose.
No drugs were found at her house and there is currently no criminal investigation.
