Duchess of Sussex's dad to fly to UK to make peace with her

Cape Town - Thomas Markle is convinced his daughter Meghan is unhappy in her new role in the royal family and is planning to jet across to the UK in a few weeks time to meet her.

The retired lighting director was unable to walk his daughter down the aisle when she married Prince Harry at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle two months ago because he had to undergo emergency surgery on his heart.

Although there seemed to be no hard feelings at the time, Thomas now feels as if he's been "frozen out" of the family as he hasn't been able to contact Meghan.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Thomas was quoted saying his daughter is struggling to cope and its showing in her smile.

“My thing about my daughter right now is that I think she is terrified. I see it in her eyes, I see it in her face and I see it in her smile.”

Just a few weeks before the wedding Thomas came under fire after he staged paparazzi photos and is convinced that mistake may have strained his relationship with his daughter.

But now he plans to make amends by flying to the UK from Mexico in a few weeks' time to see her.
