Cape Town - Floyd Mayweather has a new fight on his hands, but this time it’s a legal one.
According to TMZ, ‘Money’ is being sued by Nigerian company Zinni Media, who claim the 41-year-old failed to show up for five appearances he was supposed to make in Nigeria and Ghana.
After recording a video confirming that he will be making the appearances in June 2017, the company sent him $210k (R2 876 241,90) of the $375k (R 5 136 146,25) he requested.

However, his camp then requested that the appearances be pushed to December 2017, which Zinni agreed too, and it was decided that the $210k could be used for the new booking.
Despite the changes made to accommodate him, the 41-year-old boxer failed to pitch for the appearance and/or pay back the money.
In their lawsuit, Zinni Media – who filed court papers in California – say they are suing the retired boxer for both the money he allegedly took and for reputational damage.
As a result of his failed appearances, the company is looking for at least $2m (R27m) in damages.
Should Floyd be forced to pay the amount, it’s unlikely to cause much of a dent in his bank account. In June, Forbes listed him as the world’s highest paid athlete having racked in $275m (R3 766 507 250,00) in 2017.
