'Game of Thrones' star named Prince William Award Ambassador for badass role

Cape Town - Game of Thrones star Bella Ramsey has been named as a Prince William Award Ambassador.

According to Daily Mail, the 16-year-old has found a real-life connection to royalty after receiving praise for her role as no-nonsense Lady Lyanna Mormont in the popular HBO series – currently screening it's eighth and final season.

The Prince William Award was launched by the Duke of Cambridge, in partnership with SkillForce – a charity organisation "to help young people achieve their potential" – on 1 March 2017.

Bella will reportedly represent a pioneering new programme set up by the Duke Of Cambridge and SkillForce, to boost children's confidence and self-belief.

In a statement about the honour to Daily Mail, Bella said: "I'm so privileged to be on board with SkillForce and The Prince William Award and I really believe in their vision.

"It's something I know I would have benefited from immensely and so I am passionate about the growth of SkillForce and The Prince William Award and helping provide the incredible work they do for every child who would benefit.

"I'm excited for this journey, and the fact that it's a charity that started in the East Midlands, my home, tops it off. With courage and confidence, we can face our battles."

The PWA confirmed the news on their official Twitter account, writing: "We are delighted to be able to share the wonderful news that Game of Thrones actor, Bella Ramsey has become an official Prince William Award ambassador."
