GQ mocks Vanity Fair with their own Photoshopped cover

Los Angeles - GQ have poked fun at Vanity Fair’s disastrous Oscar cover with the release of their latest issue.

Vanity Fair trended for all the wrong reasons earlier this year when their 2018 Hollywood Issue featured Reese Witherspoon with three legs while Oprah Winfrey had an extra hand.

To mark the annual release of their comedy issue, GQ’s cover included comedians Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae and Sarah Silverman who all had extra limbs.

In the photo, Saturday Night Live actress Kate has her leg stretched unnaturally across Insecure creator Issa's lap.

Stand-up comedian Silverman is given two extra hands, one placed on Issa's shoulder while another planted on the floor beneath the stage.

Following the reveal on the cover, GQ ‘apologised’ to the three ladies for the photoshop fail.

“GQ would like to apologize to Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, and Sarah Silverman for the egregious mistakes made in the process of creating the cover for our 2018 comedy issue, the latest in our pantheon of mostly annual love letters to the funniest humans we know,” a statement on their website said.

“Our intention was to celebrate the three super-funny superstars, who are all that is smart and perceptive and riotous and necessary in comedy right now. We deeply regret that the results violated GQ's rigorous standards of editorial excellence and the laws of nature.”

Meanwhile Issa has confirmed that season 3 of her hit TV show Insecure will be on screens on 12 August.
