Cape Town - It may come as a shock to those who were rooting for team Jelena, but Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber have almost 10 years of history between them, Teen Vogue reports.
After the 24-year-old Despacito hitmaker’s seemingly sudden proposal to model Hailey (21) on Saturday, little bits and pieces have emerged about the couple’s love affair. This includes Hailey’s adorable fan-girl tweets suddenly resurfacing – though she typed them long before she knew she would someday be wearing his gigantic diamond ring on her finger.
In November 2011 she wrote: “@justinbieber great seeing you today. You were really really good, enjoy ur thanksgiving!”
The model and TV star herself also seemed to be a Jelena fan, tweeting: "I gotta say I was really looking forward to seeing what colour coordination Jelena was gonna do for this years VF party.. #sigh #ohwell."
The newly engaged couple seem to share a long-time love of cereal, too.
In November of 2012 Bieber tweeted: “Cereal is really good.” Hailey replied, “Anytime is a good time for cereal.”
Seems like a match made in heaven, right?
The Biebs reportedly asked Hailey’s dad for permission before proposing in the Bahamas last weekend, TMZ reports.
The Never Say Never singer confirmed his engagement to Hailey in a heart-warming Instagram post on Monday in which he promised to love her completely and patiently and get to know every part of who she is.
