Cape Town - It looks as if Ed Sheeran is starting a property empire!
The British singer-songwriter, who recently announced his engagement to long-time girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, bought four adjacent houses in a village in the English county of Suffolk, reports The Sun.
This comes a day after the Daily Mail revealed that the Shape of You singer is building an underground man cave, a music room and a cinema beneath his main farmhouse.
Ed, who went to school in the village, already owned a property – featuring a massive treehouse, a swimming pool and a pub – on the block where he’s now bought four additional houses.
The hitmaker’s neighbours have dubbed the area “Sheeranville” because of the numerous properties he owns in the area.
“Ed’s a super guy and really friendly. He’s just a down-to-earth Suffolk boy at heart, so who can blame him for wanting to settle down here?” said a local who refused to be named.
“It’s a lovely part of the world.
“He’s bought all the properties next door. I guess it means nobody would complain if he played his music too loudly.”
Although the village isn’t considered glamorous, it’s a fitting place for Ed and Cherry to settle down in – they went to school and met in the charming town, reports Elle Magazine.
The Thinking Out Loud singer confirmed his engagement on Instagram by posting an adorable picture.
“Got myself a fiancée just before new year. We’re very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx”
