Here’s the sad reason why Ed Sheeran quit Twitter

Cape Town - Ed Sheeran has revealed he is no longer on Twitter and well, we don’t blame him.

In an interview with The Sun, the Galway Girl hitmaker admitted: “I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it.”

Ed added that Twitter is nothing but a platform for people to say mean things and that reading a bad comment would just ruin his day.

“The head-fucker for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much,” he said.

GAGA'S LITTLE MONSTERS

When asked why he decided to quit the social media network completely Ed revealed his exit has a lot to do with Lady Gaga fans.

The 26-year-old told The Sun: “Lady Gaga’s fanbase read an interview in which they assumed I was talking about her and they all fucking hate.

“And it wasn’t anything to do with that at all.”

The interview Ed is referring to is with Beats Radio 1’s Zane Lowe in which the English song-writer made a comment about why he wouldn’t want to do the SuperBowl Halftime show.

Since news of Ed’s exit spread, Lady Gaga has reached out to him and supported him.

Alongside a photo of herself and Ed, Gaga wrote: “What an incredible talented artist I LOVE ED. I wish all people on the internet would be positive and loving and apart of creating an online community that is kind and empowering, not hateful and mean.

“No reason to tear down an artist simply because they are on top. Work harder to be kinder everybody. That should be your first duty to humanity.”

Ed’s Instagram posts will automatically pull into his Twitter account but he will no longer be tweeting directly.
