Cape Town - Could Bradley Cooper be responsible for Lady Gaga and Christian Carino calling off their engagement?

The Shallow songstress and the 49-year-old talent agent secretly got engaged in 2017, but things reportedly went sour towards the end of their relationship, Us Weekly reports.

"Chris didn’t treat Gaga very well towards the end of their [two-year] relationship," a source told the celebrity website.

Another source revealed that the Oscar-winning songwriter was the one who ended their engagement.

"He was jealous," the insider said.

"He was trying to find her all the time and texted her a lot. Her friends didn’t like him either."

This comes after rumours that the singer and her A Star Is Born co-star had a romantic connection, People reports.

But Gaga quickly shut down the rumours during an interview with talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel.

"Yes, people saw love and guess what? That’s what we wanted you to see," the 33-year-old said.

"It was so important to both of us that we were connected the entire time. When you’re singing love songs, that’s what you want people to feel.

"I’m an artist and I guess [Bradley and I] did a good job...Fooled ya!"

Since her breakup the singer-actress has sparked rumours she’s dating actor Jeremy Renner (48), with whom she’s been friends for years, W Magazine reports.

Gaga has reportedly spent a lot of time with the Avengers actor and his six-year-old daughter but a source said they don’t believe that relationship is "romantic at this point".
