Cape Town - Oprah Winfrey has revealed she’s not interested in becoming America’s 46th president.

In InStyle Magazine’s March issue, the “queen of talk” shut down rumours she’ll be running for president in 2020, after fans called on her to take up the highest political office in the land.

“I've always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I couldn’t,” Oprah told the Magazine. “And so it's not something that interests me. I don't have the DNA for it.”

But this isn't the first time the 63-year-old, who donned a beautifully embroidered black and red Gucci jacket on the cover, has dismissed rumours about running for office.

“There will be no running for office of any kind for me," the business mogul told CBS last year.

Oprah – unlike America’s current president, Donald Trump – says she refuses to use social media to discuss political issues.

“I try not to lean into the hysteria. I've heard a lot of Twitter chatter where people have said, 'Where are you? You should be speaking up on these things!”

“But it makes no sense to speak when you can’t be heard,” she says.

Earlier this month, The Color Purple actress became the first black woman to receive the Cecil B DeMille award at the Golden Globes, and used the stage to encourage young women to fight against abuse and inequality.

“I want all the girls watching here and now to know that a new day is on the horizon,” said Oprah.

“When that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say 'me too' again.”
