Cape Town - It looks like Selena opted for a fresh start in the New Year – starting with her Instagram.

Over the weekend, the 25-year-old Wolves singer’s fans noticed that she began unfollowing people on her Instagram, reports E! Online.

Selena completely overhauled her account, going from following more than 300 people to now only following 37.

Apart from Taylor Swift, the former Disney actress still follows Jessica Alba, Julia Michaels, Amy Schumer and her best friend and kidney donor, Francia Raisa.

According to the Daily Mail, Selena did, however, unfollow her assistant Theresa Mingus, and her supposed close friends, Gigi Hadid and Demi Lovato.

"She unfollowed demi, Camila & all her friends & 13 reasons why cast & Wizards of Waverly place cast & so many peoples. Wtf is happening (sic)," a clearly distressed Twitter user wrote.

Not only did the Hands to Myself singer update who she follows, Selena also made changes to her bio and changed her profile picture to one of her mom, Mandy Teefy.

But according to Elle Magazine, the unfollows might have been part of an overall brand strategy rather than a personal issue.

Selena, who’s been rekindling her love with Justin Bieber, recently took to Instagram and posted an adorable photo of herself in front of the house she grew up in.

“The home I grew up in, from birth to 13... (no one was home when I knocked this time lol) I visit this place every chance I get,” she wrote.

“In many ways, it very well could have been better than my life today, but I’m grateful for a voice that can enable change today.Even when I don’t know how to do it well or actually want it. I love you, Grand Prairie. Thank you.”
