How dyslexia brought Cher and Tom Cruise together

Cape Town - Cher has opened up about her fling with Tom Cruise in the 1980s.

The If I Could Turn Back Time hitmaker revealed in an interview with Daily Mail that she and the Mission Impossible actor first met at Sean Penn and Madonna's wedding in Malibu in 1985.

The former lovers only bonded, however, when they were both invited to the the White House, along with a bunch of other people, as recipients of the Outstanding Learning Disabled Achiever Award because they had dyslexia.

"Then a bunch of people who were dyslexic were invited to the White House, and Tom and I are both dyslexic," she said.

Without sharing too much more about their fling, Cher further revealed that they didn't go out until much later and are still friends today.
