Instagram apologise for taking down Kim Kardashian

Cape Town - Instagram says it mistakenly deleted a sponsored ad by Kim Kardashian for an appetite suppressing lollipop.

The reality star received backlash for the ad, which promoted the "literally unreal" lollipops from Flat Tummy Co. claiming they can suppress your appetite.

While Kim's followers thought she had taken it down following backlash, Instagram confirmed that accidentally removed it before reposting it back onto her feed.

Speaking to Business Insider a spokesperson for the social media app which boost over 800 million monthly users said: "We mistakenly removed content we shouldn’t have and apologised to Kim for the inconvenience caused. We worked quickly to rectify the mistake as soon as we were made aware."
