Cape Town - Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has been labelled a hero after apprehending an intruder.
On Tuesday, 4 August, Jamie (43) caught a burglar trying to break into his £9m (R180m) home in North London.
His wife, Jools (43), and their five kids, Poppy (16), Daisy (15), Petal (9), Buddy (7) and River (2), were all asleep when the incident occurred, The Sun reports.
"[Jamie] was set to investigate but before he knew it, he was face-to-face with the burglar himself as he tried to smash his way into the house," a source told The Mirror.
The celebrity chef then chased the burglar down the street and, once he caught the thief, pinned him down.
He was joined by a handful of neighbours who helped him hold the burglar down until the police arrived.
Jamie is said to have "laughed and joked" with the police when they arrived at the scene to arrest the "aggressive male", Metro reports.
Jools and the kids are said to be relieved that Jamie, who recently admitted that he only spends quality time with his family on weekends, was home at the time of the incident.
Sources reveal that the intruder also broke into Kate Moss’ house, but aren’t sure if the 44-year-old model was at home at the time.
