Jennifer Hudson gets candid about experiencing prejudice on a regular basis

Cape Town – Jennifer Hudson gets real about experiencing prejudice on a regular basis, regardless of how successful she is.

The Voice coach is the cover star of Cosmopolitan UK and recalled several times in which she has felt less than.

“There have been several situations where I get on a plane and [the air steward] assumes that I’m [meant to be] in the back of the plane. That happens a lot. I’m like ‘No, my seat is up there [in first class], thank you,’” the Oscar winning actress tells Cosmo’s Daniella Scott.

And that’s not the only place, “stuff like this happens in your own home,” Jennifer says as she recalls an incident in which people who were moving furniture in her home assumed the house belonged to her white driver, Charles.

Jennifer also addressed the Harvey Weinstein scandal and the flood of stories following it. The 36-year-old admitted that while she absolutely hates that these things have happened she is happy that women are taking a stand and speaking up.

“I hate that these things have happened, but I’m glad that women are taking a stand for themselves. They should have the right to be able to do that. And no one’s power should be able to take over someone else’s.”
