Cape Town - Johnny Depp’s teenage son, Jack, is reportedly dealing with serious health issues and his mother, Vanessa Paradis, missed the premiere of her latest film in order to be by his side.

The 45-year-old actress was scheduled to attend a screening of her film A Knife in the Heart in Paris on Tuesday night but was forced to cancel at the last minute, Daily Mail reports.

The film’s director, Yann Gonzalez, had to explain her absence at the event, saying she’d received “very bad news”, French publication Public reports.

“Unfortunately Vanessa Paradis wasn’t able to join us tonight. She had to be absent because of her son’s serious health problems,” the director said. It’s not known what Jack (16) is suffering from.

The French star and Hollywood actor Depp (54), who separated in 2012, also have a daughter, Lily Rose (19). Depp married American actress Amber Heard in 2015 but the pair split in 2017 amid allegations of physical and mental abuse, Mirror UK reports.

It’s not the first time Paradis and Depp’s children have suffered a health scare – in 2007 Lily Rose was rushed to hospital with e-coli poisoning which caused temporary kidney failure.

News of Jack’s health problems come a week after Depp’s tell-all interview with Rolling Stone in which he spoke about his struggles with depression, money and drugs.
