Cape Town - Angelina Jolie’s dad, actor Jon Voight, says she’s proven herself to be a fantastic mom.

Voight appears to have only wonderful things to say about his actor-director daughter’s relationship with her children.

"She's great," Voight said of Jolie who has six kids with ex-husband, actor Brad Pitt, reports People.

"She loves her kids, she’s always involved with them, always concerned for them," he said at the seventh annual Gold Meets Golden event – a pre-Golden Globes gala.

Jolie and Pitt share children Maddox (18), Pax (16), Zahara (14), Shiloh (13), and twins Knox and Vivienne (11).

According to Yahoo! News, he also shared one of his biggest lessons of being a grandfather.

"[The kids] all have something special, and what you want to do is provide them with the tools to express that," Voight said.

He also expressed his deep admiration for Pitt and his Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor for his role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. "I am proud of and excited for Brad, and that was a very unusual move, and a very successful one," Voight said, reports Us Weekly.

Brad Pitt went on to win the Golden Globe at the 2020 ceremony.

Jolie and Voight have had a roller-coaster relationship since the actress was a child and the two were estranged for nearly seven years before they ended their feud in 2010 with the assistance of Pitt.

Talking to Vanity Fair in 2017, Jolie said Voight had adjusted well to being included in the lives of her children.

"He’s been very good at understanding they needed their grandfather at this time," the actress said.

"He knows kind of the rule – don't make them play with you. Just be a cool grandpa who’s creative, and hang out and tell stories and read a book in the library," Jolie concluded.
