In 2018 Justin Bieber was famously photographed with his head in his hands, crying, alongside Hailey Bieber on the streets in New York City.
Of course, the media, and fans too, had a field day with paparazzi photos, making all kinds of assumptions. Many said the Yummy singer must have been going through a breakdown, reports People. Now, the 25-year-old says there was nothing to it – he was "just being a normal person".
In his YouTube docu-series, Justin Bieber: Seasons, he opens up about the incident saying, "When I'm in the media and I look at things on the internet and people are like, 'Justin's upset, why is he upset?' It's like, they don't give me permission to be upset. I don't have permission to be, you know, human and shed tears.
"There's so many people every day who are in a conversation with their girl or their wife or their mom, and they break down, you know? But they don't have cameras capturing it," he said. "So people are like, 'Is he okay, is he having a mental breakdown?' And I'm just emotional and that's okay."
He added, "I remember just struggling. I remember feeling, like, emotionally, just overwhelmed and talking to her, not knowing how to communicate certain things and just feeling kind of, like, frustrated. You know, there's been a lot of things that have happened in my life, and I think this was a point in my life where I was just like, so overwhelmed."
With the release of his new album, Changes, and his docu-series, Justin has revealed a lot about his life and what's been going on since the release of his album, Purpose in 2015.
He recently opened up about his Lyme disease diagnoses, his battle with drugs and his relationship with wife and model, Hailey Bieber.
In a previous episode, Hailey says, while Justin's been dealing with a lot he's on the mend. "He's honestly, not only healthier than he's ever been, but on the road to maintaining a healthier life than he's ever had, which is awesome."
