Cape Town - Kanye West got really emotional at the Louis Vuitton (LV) 2019 spring menswear showcase in Paris – but he definitely wasn’t crying about the clothes.
The rapper’s long-time friend Virgil Abloh was recently appointed as the menswear artistic director of Louis Vuitton – becoming the first African-American in history to get the position.
On Thursday Virgil showcased his first collection and while doing his final bow, he ran over to where Kanye was sitting in the front row and embraced him as they both cried.
Before LV Virgil was Yeezy’s creative director for DONDA, which is named after Yeezy’s late mother and he was also the creative director for the album Watch the Throne, which put him up for Grammy nomination.
Although Kanye had mixed feelings at first about Virgil leaving his company for LV, it was clear by his support that their brotherhood was left unaffected.
