Katy Perry’s mother, Mary Hudson, found out her daughter was pregnant on a wine bottle.

The Firework singer recently released a new single in which she revealed the exciting news that she and fiancé Orlando Bloom are expecting their first child.

The 35-year-old wanted to spill the beans to her loved ones by gifting them with a specially labelled bespoke bottle of wine, People reports.

But things didn’t go as planned.

During an interview with SiriusXM Hits 1, Katy said her pregnancy reveal surprise was ruined by her mother after she ransacked Katy’s wine cabinet – something "she never does" – and found the special bottle.

"And she’s like, 'What is this?' And that’s how it happened. I was like, 'Well, you ruined the surprise'," Katy recalled.

Katy further went on to reveal that her pregnancy wasn’t an accident and that it was something she and the Pirates of the Caribbean actor had been planning for a while. It was just a matter of "creating space".

"We're both looking forward to this new interval of life and sharing this," she added.

The duo, who were set to say their "I do's" in a ceremony which was meant to take place in Japan, have since decided to postpone their wedding plans due to the coronavirus, E! News reported.

An insider revealed that the pair had their hearts set on hosting their nuptials in Japan but have been forced to "wait to see what happens with travel and coronavirus".

The source further revealed that "the wedding is coming up and everything is planned. It's up in the air and things could be changing".

The parents-to-be are also "considering moving the plans to the US," the insider added, especially because Katy is "about five months" into her pregnancy.
