Kendall Jenner has agreed to pay $90 000 (around R1.6 million) for her involvement in promoting the Fyre Festival.

The music festival that took place in the Bahamas in 2017 saw people pay large sums of money for what was supposed to be the ultimate luxury experience. But videos and images on social media spread quickly, showing it was anything but.

The disastrous festival inspired two documentaries – one on Netflix and another on Hulu.

The mastermind behind it all, Billy McFarland, was sentenced to six years in prison, while many famous faces who promoted the event and were supposedly paid to perform, were sued. Big names include Migos, Blink-182, Lily Yachty, Pusha T, Emily Ratajkowski and Kendall Jenner.

Now, according to E! News, Kendall has settled her lawsuit and agreed to pay $90 000 (R1.6 million) - which is but a fraction of the $275 000 (R5 million) she was reportedly paid to promote the music festival.

The court documents, obtained by the publication says, in a since-deleted Instagram post, Kendall wrote: "So hyped to announce my G.O.O.D Music Family as the first headliners for @fyrefestival. Use my promo code KJONFYRE for the next 24 hours to get on the list for the artists and talents afterparty on Fyre Cay."

The lawsuit claimed the model "intentionally [lead] certain members of the public and ticket purchasers to believe" Kanye West, who founded G.O.O.D., would be performing at the festival.

Further, she also failed to state she was paid for the post, according to the Federal Trade Commission.
