Cape Town – Kevin Hart made his first official appearance since his serious car crash over the weekend when he attended 2019 E! People's Choice Awards.
In September the Jumanji actor was rushed to hospital after his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda crashed through a wooden fence with the roof crushed on impact. At the time it was reported that the 40-year-old "sustained major back injuries".
On Sunday, a little over two months later, Kevin accepted the award for Comedy Act of 2019, reports E! News, and the audience cheered when he walked out to Kanye West's Stronger.
"First and foremost, thank God because I definitely don't have to be here," Kevin said. "Being that I am, it makes me appreciate life even more. It makes me appreciate the things that really matter. Family. I want to thank my wife and kids, who really stepped up to the plate for me."
Thanking his fans he continued, "You have no idea the effect you have on us as entertainers... your energy, your support... it means the world. And I truly want to thank you guys for being there for me in my difficult time."
