Cape Town - It’s been almost a year since Kim Kardashian West was robbed at gunpoint and now one of her attackers has extended an olive branch.

TMZ reports Kim’s legal team was handed an apology letter, written by Aomar Ait Khedache (60), the alleged mastermind behind the attack.

In the letter, Khedache apologises for the trauma he caused the reality TV star and adds that he “was moved by [Kim’s] tears”.

“After observing your emotion and realising the psychological damages I inflicted, I decided to write to you, not to obtain from you some sort of indulgence. I want to come to you as a human being to tell you how much I regret my gesture, how much I have been moved and touched to see you in tears.”

“Know that I fully sympathise with the pain you’re enduring, your children, your husband, and your close ones. I hope this letter will allow you to forget, little by little, the trauma that you suffered by my fault.”

But according to TMZ, Kim hasn’t been moved in the slightest by the seemingly warm gesture, believing it to be a ploy for a lighter sentence.

After reports of the letter surfaced, the rumour mill went into overdrive with suggestions that the 60-year-old Khedache was only writing the apology letter because of his upcoming trial.

He first sent the letter, which was originally written in French, to the judge, who then forwarded the letter to Kim’s legal team. It was then translated by her attorneys.

The Keeping up with the Kardashians star is yet to respond, Vogue reports.
