Cape Town - Lady Gaga has put the Bradley Cooper romance rumours to bed once and for all.

The singer recently sat down with talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel to open up about her relationship with her A Star Is Born co-star, Entertainment Tonight reports.

“You had such a connection with Bradley that instantly – and I guess this is a compliment – people started saying, ‘They must be dating. They must be in love,’” Jimmy said during the interview about the pair’s duet during the Oscars.

“First of all social media, quite frankly, is the toilet of the internet and what it’s done to pop culture is abysmal,” Gaga (32) said after a massive eye-roll.

“People saw love and, guess what, that’s what we wanted you to see. This is a love song.”

The Joanne singer went on to praise Bradley (44) for his incredible musical abilities, People reports.

“Bradley is a musician. My favourite thing about the whole experience – I was so excited for everyone to see him sing live.

“At that moment when we started and he said, ‘Tell me something, girl,’ the audience started cheering and I was like, ‘Yes Bradley! Keep going!’” Gaga said.

Romance rumours heightened after the pair sang a steamy version of their Oscar-winning song, Shallow.

After receiving the award, Gaga thanked Bradley, who also directed the film, in an emotional acceptance speech, Harper’s Bazaar reports.

“Bradley, there isn’t a single person on the planet who could’ve sung this song with me but you,” she said.

“Thank you for believing in us, thank you so much.”
