Lorde apologises to angered fans after ‘poorly chosen’ Whitney Houston reference

Cape Town – Lorde has apologised to fans after landing in trouble over a Whitney Houston comment.

The Royals hitmaker issued an official apology on Instagram Stories after people criticised her for quoting a Whitney Houston song alongside a photo of a bath in a post on Instagram.

The late singing legend was found dead in the bath of her Beverly Hills hotel room on Saturday, 11 February 2012.

Following social media outrage, Lorde removed the post from Instagram and issued an apology saying: “I’m so sorry for offending anyone – I hadn’t even put this together I was just excited to take a bath.”
