Los Angeles - Madonna and Guy Ritchie still have a very "volatile" relationship.
The Hung Up singer recently went to court after her 15-year-old son Rocco refused to return to New York from London and insiders reportedly believe the teenager is being influenced by his film director father, who split from the pop star in 2008.
Insiders told TMZ the former couple don't get along and Guy used a visit from Rocco to "stoke the coals" when he was angry at Madonna.
The pair are said to clash frequently over the youngster because the 57-year-old singer is strict and "very controlling".
Despite Rocco reportedly defying a court order to return to New York, Madonna is "confident" he will eventually return home for good.
Rocco's reluctance to be with his mother is apparently because he has been traveling with Madonna across the world for her Rebel Heart tour.
A source said recently: "The boy said he didn't want to stay with her.
"He's not getting along with his mom, which is not a surprise for a child that age."
Another custody hearing is due to take place in New York on 3 February.
