Cape Town - A man who has 10 celebrity autographs tattooed onto his arms, including those of Ozzy Osbourne and Sting, is set to sell his skin at an auction.

The starting price is a whopping £78k (R1.44m).

Yury Galaktionov had celebrities sign his arms with a pen before getting a tattoo artist to ink over the autographs.

Apart from Sting and Ozzy’s, he also has the autograph of the lead singer of heavy metal band Scorpions, Klaus Meine.

Yury, a painter from central Russia, says he’s already been offered the auction starting amount for his skin, after he dies.

Two European collectors, whose identities haven’t been disclosed, contacted him with the offer. But he decided instead to have an auction with the same starting price. The winning bidder will receive his skin once he dies.

"It’s not about money. I want everybody who wishes to have an opportunity to participate."

For the time being Yury is working with lawyers on settling the legal side of things.

Klaus Meine’s autograph was the first in his collection.

"When a tattoo artist was inking the tattoo of my first autograph, we were laughing and saying that one day I would sell my skin. It was just a joke back then." Yury recalls.

But now it seems it has become a reality!
