Cape Town – Michelle Williams and Hamilton director, Thomas Kail are engaged – and expecting their first child!
A source confirmed the news to People while The Greatest Showman star was spotted in London filming Venom 2. According to reports, the 39-year-old was seen buying baby clothes.
While the couple has kept their relationship private, E! News suggests they most likely met and started dating after Thomas directed the star in Fosse/Verdon – the biographical series for which she won an Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series – though an insider hinted at Michelle’s daughter, Matilda playing matchmaker.
Michelle Williams was previously married to musician Phil Everum, but the couple split eight months ago. Before that she was in a longterm relationship with Heath Ledger who died in 2008; together they shared 14-year-old Matilda.
In 2018 Michelle spoke candidly about her relationship with the actor from The Dark Night. She told Vanity Fair, "I always say to Matilda, 'Your dad loved me before anybody thought I was talented, or pretty, or had nice clothes.'"
