Nicki Minaj makes comeback after 4-year hiatus on ELLE magazine

Cape Town – Nicki Minaj is unveiling her new approach on life in the July issue of ELLE magazine.

After a four-year hiatus, the magazine’s cover star is also showing off her new outlook on life with a banging new album.

Speaking about taking her time to work on her new album Queen, which is set to be released on 10 August, Nicki said: “I really think it’s gonna be the best album of the year.

“I went through a moment where I got to know myself again, and then I went through a moment where I got to know myself as the rapper again. And then I locked [myself] in the studio, and I didn’t want to leave.

Adding that she feels she has grown more “in the last six months” than she has in the “last eight years.”

Aside from promoting Queen, Nicki also crossed a work venture off her bucket list – working with Karl Lagerfeld.

The rapper was photographed by the Chanel’s creative director for the ELLE feature and looks absolutely stunning.

Of having the opportunity to work with Karl, Nicki said: “I couldn’t think straight anymore. I was like, Oh my God, I couldn’t…it felt like a dream.”

Part of what changed Nicki’s outlook on life was being single.

“It’s the first time in my life I’ve ever been single,” Nicki says – who was engaged to the recently released from prison rapper Meek Mill and has been linked to rapper Nas and Eminem in recent months.

“As soon as I realised that I could actually live and breathe, and eat and sleep, and walk and talk without having a boyfriend, something clicked in me…

“Becoming single was one of the things that made me feel strong and powerful.”
