Johannesburg - American rapper Nicki Minaj recently opened up about her relationship with rapper Meek Mill.

Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres in the season 16 premiere episode of The Ellen Show, Nicki claimed that the relationship was very toxic but regardless of that the couple still had their good moments.

“I was in a relationship with Meek for a while and it was a very toxic something but we had some good times and then we ended that,” said  Nicki.

The episode will air in the US on Tuesday, 4 September.

During her appearance on the show, Nicki talks about her love life and reveals that she was never in a relationship with American rapper Nas but was just friends with him.

“I didn’t say I was with Nas. I said I chilled, I hung out with him,” said the Barbie Dreams rapper.

Nicki also confirmed that she was not in a relationship with rapper Drake but she smiled shyly as Ellen asked her about the new guy in her life currently.

“Well there’s a new boy but he and I kinda fell back a little bit,” said the 35-year-old rapper giggling. She continued by saying: “And then there’s a newer boy.”

Although everyone was wondering if Nicki is in a relationship or not, the Young Money rapper concluded by saying that she is currently single and this is the first time she’s been alone since she was 15-years-old.

“I’ve always been in a relationship my whole life. I was in a relationship since I was 15 years old. It’s the first time that I’m single and I’m happier, I’m free,” said Nicki.
