Nicki Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, has been arrested.
According to People, the 41-year-old turned himself in on Wednesday after failing to register as a sex offender. Though he's registered in New York, after moving to California, he didn't register in his new state.
He was convicted in 1995 of first-degree attempted rape, reports E! News, for which he served around four years in prison. In 2006 he served 10 months, after pleading guilty to first-degree manslaughter.
Now, if he fails to register as a sex offender, he is facing up to 10 years in jail. TMZ later updated that Kenneth pleaded not guilty to the charges on Wednesday, but now has a curfew and will be required to wear an ankle monitor. He has relinquished his passport with his travel restricted.
He will not be allowed to use any drugs, including marijuana and is to appear at another hearing on 23 March.
Further, Kenneth's lawyer's said he'd be posting a $100 000 (R1.5 million) bond later that today.
