Cape Town - Singer Nicole Scherzinger recently penned an emotional post urging the driver responsible for her cousin’s death to come forward.

The 41-year-old took to Instagram to share a heartbreaking post dedicated to her late cousin, John Frederick III (35), who was killed in a hit-and-run accident on 26 October, Metro reported.

In the shared post, the former Pussycat Doll described the untimely passing of her beloved cousin as "a nightmare that we never will be able to wake from".

The X Factor judge did reveal she at least found comfort in knowing he was resting peacefully.

But this didn’t take away the "agony our family is going through, knowing someone hit him head-on and just left him there to die," she added.

"My family and I are pleading for any information that could help support the investigation into the tragic death of this incredible man."

Nicole also urged the person responsible to "have the dignity and strength to come forward."

There’s a $3 000 (R45 000) reward for anyone with information that could lead to the person’s arrest, according to the Daily Mail.
