Cape Town – Royals are generally not allowed to have their own social media accounts – Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, even had to shut down all her personal pages before marrying Prince Harry.

But if it’s a secret and only close friends and family know about it, then what’s the harm?
In celebrating her engagement to longtime beau, Joshua Kushner, Karlie Kloss shared all her dear friends’ reactions to the news on Instagram Stories.
Among those friends was Princess Beatrice of York – a granddaughter of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth.
Although it is not customary, Princess Beatrice’s sister Eugenie launched a public Instagram account earlier this year, which will be used for official royal engagements only.

And now it seems Beatrice too has an account, but a private one.
According to People magazine, in a screengrab of Beatrice’s surprised face on Instagram Stories, Karlie has tagged “@beayork”.
Upon searching the handle on Instagram a profile comes up but, as expected, it is private.
