Cape Town - In a recent interview on The Howard Stern Show, the comedian said he received a death threat the day after he started dating Ariana Grande (25), reports Glamour.
"Yeah, I got a death threat," he said.
"Someone wanted to shoot me in the face because she's so hot. Do you know how insane that is? I was like, 'Am I that ugly that people want to shoot me in the face?' They're like, 'No, f**k this guy.' What did I do?"
The 24-year-old then went on to speak about how he and the No Tears Left to Cry singer got together in the first place, writes E! Online.
"Timing, I feel like, is everything and we both were in a similar situation at the same time," said Pete, acknowledging his breakup with actress Cazzie David and Grande's split from rapper Mac Miller, who died on 7 September of a suspected drug overdose.
The pair started dating earlier this year before a whirlwind engagement just a few weeks later in June, writes Vanity Fair.
On 23 June, Pete deleted all his Instagram posts and expressed his loathing for the internet, writes Teen Vogue.
In a later Instagram post he wrote: "No, there's nothing wrong. No, nothing happened. No, there's nothing cryptic about anything. I just don't wanna be on Instagram anymore. Or on any social media platform. The internet is an evil place and it doesn't make me feel good.
"Why should I spend any time on negative energy when my real life is f**king lit? The fact that I even have to say this proves my point. I love you all and I'm sure I'll be back at some point. :) Your neighbourhood goon, Pete."
