Pink has revealed that two weeks ago she tested positive for the coronavirus, but has since made a full recovery.

The Walk Me Home singer, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, shared on Twitter that she and her son 3-year-old son, Jameson, were showing symptoms of the virus. "Fortunately, our primary care physician had access to tests and I tested positive," she wrote.

After self-isolating at home, the 40-year-old said her family was retested and "thankfully" the tests were negative.

"It is an absolute travesty and failure of our government to not make testing more widely accessible," she added. "This illness is serious and real.

"People need to know that the illness affects the young and old, healthy and unhealthy, rich and poor, and we must make testing free and more accessible to protect our children, our families, our friends and our communities."

In a second tweet, the singer then went on to share that in an effort to support healthcare workers on the frontline, and help those in need, she’s donating $1 million (R19 million) to fighting Covid-19.

"Thank you to all of our healthcare professionals and everyone in the world who are working so hard to protect our loved ones. You are our heroes! These next two weeks are crucial: please stay home." she wrote.

Pink follows several Hollywood A-listers who have also tested positive for the coronavirus. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were first to share their diagnosis, but have since also made a recovery and returned home after quarantining in Australia where they contracted the virus. Idris Elba, Daniel Dae Kim and Game of Thrones star, Kristofer Hivju have since all revealed their diagnosis.
