Cape Town – Kevin Federline was recently granted a restraining order against his ex-father-in-law as the police investigate claims he allegedly abused his 13-year-old son.

The incident happened in August, and what started as an argument between Jamie and his grandson soon became violent. Sources told TMZ, "Jamie broke down a door to get to his grandson and grabbed him once he was in the room."

The publication says while there are no visible bruises or injuries, Kevin felt it was serious enough to report it the following day.

According to E! News, Kevin has also been granted a restraining order against Jamie in the meantime, keeping him from seeing both Sean and Jayden.

The Toxic singer hasn't commented on the ongoing investigation but did not oppose the restraining order.

Britney's had a trying few months. After her father became ill at the beginning of the year, she took a much-needed break postponing her Vegas residency and delaying the release of her album to check herself into a mental health treatment facility. Recently, it was also revealed that Kevin would be getting 70% custody of the couple's two boys – the two had initially had a 50-50 agreement. But according to E! News Kevin and Britney came to this agreement in 2018 already.

The rapper's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan commented, "Kevin in no way wants to prevent the boys from having any unreasonable custodial contact with their mom. The boys love their mother but the existing arrangement, as reflected in the terms of the most recently entered order, are reflecting what Kevin believes is in the children's best interest."
