Priyanka Chopra dodges engagement questions: ‘I have the right to keep that to myself’

Cape Town – Priyanka Chopra would prefer to keep 10% of her life, aka her personal life, as private as possible.

During an interactive session at Dehli's Taj Palace Hotel Dhaula Kuan titled "Challenging the Status Quo and Forging New Paths," organised by FICCI Ladies Organisation and Yes Bank, Priyanka briefly spoke about her personal life saying she likes to keep it to herself.

“90 percent of my life is for public consumption, but 10 percent is for me. I'm a girl; I have the right to keep that to myself.”

Stunning in an emerald dress, Priyanka - who cheered Nick Jonas on during a performance in Singapore the night before - was not wearing an engagement ring during the discussion, however E! News reports paparazzi photographed the Baywatch actress removing it upon her arrival to India.

Dodging any question about her rumoured engagement to singer Nick, Priyanka simply said: “My family, my friendships and my relationships are things I don't think I need to defend or explain to anyone. I am not running for office, so I don't think I need to give explanations.”

Further revealing how she deals with headlines about her love life, Priyanka told moderator Vir Sanghvi that “sometimes I laugh, sometimes I get annoyed. Mostly, I tell my publicists, ‘Let it be. Today's news is tomorrow's trash.’”
