Ryan Seacrest's rep is clearing the air about the rumoured stroke the host had on the finale of American Idol.

"Ryan did not have any kind of stroke last night," the rep told People on Monday. "Like many people right now, Ryan is adjusting to the new normal and finding work-home balance, with the added stress of having to put on live shows from home.

"Between Live with Kelly and Ryan, American Idol, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, and the Disney Family Singalong specials, he has been juggling three to four on-air jobs over the last few weeks and he's in need of rest. So today he took a well-deserved day off."

The 45-year-old first sparked concern when he hosted the part-live finale of the singing competition from home. Fans went on Twitter noting he was exhibiting symptoms of a stroke with his eyes swollen and the jumbling up of his word, reports E! News. Ryan also didn't appear on Live With Kelly and Ryan on Monday, which further worried fans.

But it turns out the busy TV and radio personality just needed to catch his breath.

According to the report by People, Ryan is expected to return to his hosting duties on Live With Kelly and Ryan later this week.
