Cape Town - Selena Gomez has reportedly checked out of rehab.
The 26-year-old, who was admitted to a rehab facility in September after an emotional breakdown, has apparently been discharged and is trying to stay out of the public eye, Metro reports.
“Selena is out of her treatment program in NYC [New York City] and is doing much better,” a source said, adding that she feels “refreshed” and is in a “better head space”.
In the weeks leading up to her admission to the facility, the singer was admitted to hospital on numerous occasions after experiencing complications from her 2017 kidney transplant, Vulture reports. The singer – who suffers from lupus, an autoimmune condition – had a low white blood cell count and wasn’t improving.
Before entering the facility, the Same Old Love singer took to Instagram to announce: “Update: taking a social media break. Again.”
She went on to explain in the post: “As much as I’m grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I’m equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I’ve been given.
“Kindness and encouragement only for a bit! Just remember – negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings. Obvi.”

This is not Selena’s first time in treatment. In 2016, the former Disney star checked into a Tennessee rehabilitation facility after suffering from anxiety and depression, Business Insider US reports.
