Cape Town - Selena Gomez recently got candid about her former relationship with Justin Bieber.
In an interview with NPR, Selena Gomez opened up about her mental health and past relationship with the Yummy hitmaker.
The 27-year-old spilled the beans on her latest single, Lose You To Love Me, which she admitted was about Bieber, according to Fox News.
"I felt I didn't get a respectful closure, and I had accepted that, but I know I needed some way to just say a few things that I wish I had said... It was very difficult and I'm happy it's over," Selena said, speaking to show host Lulu Garcia-Navarro.
Lulu then asked if she was referring to her time together with Justin.
"It's dangerous to stay in a victim mentality. And I'm not being disrespectful, I do feel I was a victim to certain abuse," said Selena which prompted the interviewer to ask if it was emotional abuse she meant.
"Yes, and I think that it's something that... I had to find a way to understand it as an adult," she admits.
"And I had to understand the choices I was making. As much as I definitely don't want to spend the rest of my life talking about this, I am really proud that I can say I feel the strongest," she added.
Selena’s candid interview comes after Justin recently opened up about living with Lyme disease for years.
