Cape Town - No, Cameron Diaz (45) hasn’t decided to hang up her acting shoes!

Close friend and fellow actress Selma Blair issued the clarification on Twitter on Monday after rumours started spreading that Cameron had retired from acting to focus on her life with husband Benji Madden.

Selma was reported to have said, in an interview with Metro UK, that the Charlie’s Angels star didn’t plan on acting in any movies and preferred to spend time with her husband.

“I had lunch with Cameron the other day. We were reminiscing about the film. I would’ve liked to do a sequel but Cameron’s retired from acting. She’s like ‘I’m done’,” Selma said in the interview.

“I mean, she doesn’t need to make any more films. She has a pretty great life, I don’t know what it would take to bring her back. She’s happy.”

But it seems her words were misconstrued.

Selma took to Twitter to set the record straight, tweeting that she was “making a joke in the interview”.

“Guys please, I was making a joke in an interview. Cameron Diaz is NOT retiring from ANYTHING,” she tweeted.

She then jokingly added: “And for more breaking news, I’m NOW retiring from being Cameron Diaz’s spokesperson.”

Cameron and Benji met back in 2014 after being introduced to each other by Nicole Richie.

The smitten pair tied the knot seven months later in an intimate ceremony at Cameron’s home in Beverly Hills in 2015.

According to Metro News, Cameron last acted in the movie Annie back in 2014 and has since rejected other movies.
