Cape Town - Serena Williams is not the royal wedding beer pong champion.

Rumours of the tennis champion's new found talents started making the rounds following the 19 May nuptials of the Duke of Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan.

Multiple media reports claimed that Serena dominated the game at the reception held at Frogmore House.

Speaking after her first round win over Kristyna Pliskova at Roland Garros, Serena laughed off the claims, saying that they are "not even remotely true. I don't even drink beer."

The 23-time Grand Slam champion also added that there was no beer pong at the reception but admitted her and husband, Alexis Ohanian, had "a big laugh" over the reports.

Despite the false rumours about her beer pong skills, it’s been a great month for Serena, who won a Grand Slam for the first time since the 2017 Australian Open.

In her first Grand Slam match as a mom, Serena claimed a 7-6, 6-4 win over the Czech player to set up a second round meeting with Ashleigh Barty.

It wasn’t just Serena’s talents that caught attention, but also her dress sense as she donned a cat suit to mark her return to court.

Along with making her feel like a "superhero", Serena, who is mom to eight-month-old daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr, said she wore the outfit was to raise awareness to blood clots which she revealed in February almost cost her life.

"I had a lot of problems with those, I don't know how many I have had in the past 12 months. It definitely has little functionality to it. It's a fun suit, but it's also functional so I'm able to play without any problems."
