Cape Town - Tennis star Serena Williams has some pregnancy tips for her buddy Meghan Markle.
At the recent unveiling of her new clothing line the four-time Olympic gold medal winner told People that despite the duchess’ busy schedule and added pressures of being a royal, Meghan hasn’t changed at all.
“I’m like, ‘How are you?’ And she’s like, ‘No, how are you?’ And I’m like, ‘You’re so sweet, but I’m really asking – how are you?’” Serena said.
“I’m like, ‘Meghan, stop being so nice . . . You’re the pregnant one, aren’t you supposed to have hormones, why are you so sweet?’ But that’s always been her,” she added.
She also said that while she does give the former actress pregnancy tips, Meghan still gives her more advice, Elle reports.
Serena – who gave birth to her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian in September last year – has been friends with the Duchess of Sussex since 2010 and was a guest at Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry on 19 May.
In an interview with Vogue last year, the royal praised her friend Serena. “She’ll be an amazing mom. The very best, because she’s so attuned to balancing strength and sensitivity,” she said.
“Plus, given that she’s pretty epic at karaoke, I think she’ll put her signature Serena spin on singing lullabies for the baby. I can’t wait for that!”
The grand slam winner’s biggest advice for new moms is simply to take each step of motherhood as it comes.
“It’s so crazy, I totally changed, and it literally is like a switch. And so, I say that, ‘It will come’.”
