Cape Town - Over the years social media has allowed us glimpses into the lives of the world’s biggest celebrities.
Almost anything seems to go on Twitter, from the funny and the cute to the far out.
Check out some of the tweets that gave us all we needed in 2019.
Barack and Michelle Obama
The former US first lady and president celebrated their anniversary in October, with Barack tweeting out a sweet message proving that true love does exist.
According to Bustle, the tweet read, “Like the Beatles said: It’s getting better all the time. Thanks, babe, for 27 amazing years!”
Dolly Parton and Jane Fonda
The country singer tweeted a never-before-seen throwback of herself and the veteran actress wearing elaborate period costumes. "It’s called fashion. Look it up," the caption read.
Lil Nas X
The rapper thought his coming out was quite clear, but just to be 100% certain he made sure followers noticed his addition of the rainbow flag on the cover art for his single Old Town Road.
Chrissy Teigen
Former model and TV host Chrissy Teigen is a fun box of laughs on Twitter and she sure knows how to keep fans entertained with her authentic and relatable tweets. She’s on a roll with this one, encouraging the need for "happy posts".
Diplo
The use of "daddy" has taken on a new meaning for social media users, for example, describing someone like producer and musician Diplo, who’s become quite the sex symbol over the years. But he really just wants to clear up some confusion for the sake of his kids.
Lady Gaga
Feigning ignorance about the anniversary of her third studio album, Artpop, Gaga upset fans with this tweet. In all honesty, the album wasn’t as successful as her other releases but did she really forget about its existence? According to Hollywood Life, despite the album being available only digitally for some time, the multitalented artist has now rereleased physical versions of it. So, perhaps no amnesia after all then?
