Cape Town – Sophie Turner wanted to keep her marriage to Joe Jonas "a secret" as she feels marriage is a "private thing" which is about celebrating love rather than holding a lavish ceremony.
In a new interview with Net-a-Porter's magazine, Porter, the actress explained: "I think at some point I would have had to stop saying 'fiancé', but yes, I would have kept it a secret,".
She added: "Marriage is a private thing between two people and I think that's how it should always be. It's not about the dress, it's not about the food. It's about being husband and wife and being dedicated to each other forever."
The world found out about Joe and Sophie getting married in Vegas after the Billboard Music Awards after DJ and producer Diplo live-streamed it on his social media.
In an interview on the Graham Norton Show last week about Diplo's unauthorised filming of their wedding Sophie said: "Well, we didn't choose him to be our wedding photographer,"."He just kind of decided to live-stream it."
