Taraji P. Henson's identity stolen by Chicago mom

Cape Town – Taraji P. Jenson has become a victim of identity theft after a Chicago mom wracked up over $12 000 (R170 000) in fraudulent transactions under the actress's and multiple other victims' names.

Alicia Newby was arrested at her home on Saturday after police got a warrant to search the house. The cops found items they believed were reportedly fraudulently purchased.

The court didn't divulge the names of all the victims as the pregnant mom of six sobbed in court, but police and court records revealed Taraji as one of the "multiple victims", according to The Chicago Tribune

The Empire actress's manager first noticed fraudulent charges appearing on several of her accounts, shipped to two different addresses, under names they didn't recognise. Her team reported it to the Chicago police for further investigation.

Newby is expected to appear in court next week on the charge of a single felony count of continuing a financial crime enterprise.
