The one thing Joe Jonas said to Sophie Turner that 'saved' her life

Cape Town – Sophie Turner credits her husband, Joe Jonas for "saving" her life when she was at her lowest.

The 23-year-old actress, who plays Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones, has recently opened up about her mental health and body image struggles. In a new interview with The Times she revealed she lost so much weight at one stage, that her period stopped.

Sophie further revealed that something Joe said to her during her lowest moment saved her life.

"He was, like, 'I can't be with you until you love yourself, I can't see you love me more than you love yourself.' That was something, him doing that. I think he kind of saved my life, in a way," E! News reports Sophie said.

Sophie previously opened up about her struggles with depression in a candid interview with Dr Phil.

"I've suffered from depression for about five or six years now. It’s weird. I say I wasn't very depressed when I was younger, but I used to think about suicide a lot.

"I don't know why though. Maybe it's just a weird fascination I used to have, but yeah, I used to think about it. I don't think I ever would have gone through with it."
